About

My name is Samual Lau. I am a long-term value investor and a zealous disciple of Ben Graham. This blog is created mainly to teach value investment methodologies and strategies, feed investment ideas to readers, and to research Graham, Buffett and other super-investors’ Value Investment principles in thorough details.

I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA from Carnegie Mellon University (graduated in May 2010). My MBA concentrations are Finance, Strategy and Marketing. I am a pssionate analytical guy who loves to leverage problem-solving insights and structured thinking to identify investment opportunities that can be transformed into solid decisions and produce profitable results.

My own company is named Timeless Investment. I have my own company dedicating to finance and investment education. And I teach Accounting and Investment Classes for Adult and Continuous Education in my local town.

I believe the essence of value investing does not rely on popular sentiment, professional consensus, and personal moods; rather, it depends solely on the understanding of underlying business fundamentals and economic perspective. I believe to have good investment ideas we have to be infatuated familiar and unbiased with plain facts, be adamant on logic thinking, and be willingly and happily to plow through mountains of “boring” financial statements.

I believe to be successful in investment in a magnificent way you had to be magnificently different. – There is only one Buffett or one Graham who can never be replicated. Investing is something we have to be trained on how to do by our own, only in our own unique way.

Disclaimer: I am not an investment Adviser.
