Update on the settlement of BAC mortgage abuses

State and federal officials appear close to a settlement with a deadline the end-of-the-week for states to determine whether they will participate. Also, negotiators have apparently agreed on North Carolina bank commissioner Joseph A Smith, Jr. as the Czar to that ensures banks comply with terms of the settlement. However, he has not been available for comment.

(Reuters) – State and federal officials are close to a settlement with the largest U.S. banks over mortgage abuses, with states facing an end-of-the-week deadline to decide whether they will sign on, people close to the talks said.

Both news note that I need to watch out BAC for this end of week.
