- October 9, 2016: Presidential Debate at Washington University in St. Louis (St. Louis, Missouri)
- October 19, 2016: Presidential Debate at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (Las Vegas, Nevada)
All are 90 minutes long, and run from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
2. Budget negotiation: Other political drama in the coming week could come from Congress, where budget negotiations are underway ahead of the Sept. 30 deadline. If they fail to reach a deal, Congress could again cause a shut down of the federal government.
3. OPEC conference (09/26 ~09/28): The other wild card for markets is the meeting of OPEC members and non-OPEC producers at an energy conference in Algeria from Monday through Wednesday.

In addition, Hungary will hold a referendum next week in relation to an EU refugee quota, with Austria poised for a re-run of the presidential election in early December. Next year, France will also elect a new president, followed by general elections in the Netherlands and Germany.
